So, I guess your first thought is – what the heck is a ‘kanamada’?

Well, ‘kana mada’ (pronounced kar-na mun-da) is a Fijian term which, when translated to English, means ‘please eat well’.

Now happily married to an Aussie bloke and residing in Sydney, I’ve chosen this term as it acknowledges my cultural roots (born & bred in Fiji), my high appreciation of good food and the joy of eating it. Along with food, this blog will document all of the things that bring me joy in life and will allow me to record my gratefulness and appreciation of all that which I have been blessed.

My first project will to be cooking my way through Neil Perry’s The Food I Love. I warn you upfront that my cooking style is very real so the photos you will see will not be pretty, neat bowls of ingredients, ordered in a way that is tasteful and aesthetically pleasing – it will likely be a mess… but a passionate one.
